"Yaakov: Let Them Eat Cake" was created in response to Yaakov Fauci, an illegal settler from America, who has been unlawfully squatting in and attempting to steal the home of the Indigenous Palestinian Al-Kurd family in occupied Sheikh Jarrah, Palestine. In a recorded confrontation, Yaakov shamelessly told the Al-Kurd family, “If I don’t steal [your house], someone else will,” a chilling declaration that frames the ethnic cleansing and displacement of Palestinians as his entitlement.

The title, “Let Them Eat Cake,” a phrase famously tied to the French Revolution, underscores the profound disregard for the lived realities of the oppressed. It draws a poignant parallel to the unbalanced power dynamics between oppressors and those they subjugate, highlighting the systemic dehumanization and erasure of Palestinian existence.
